Someone said "Dude, you should start a blog with all of your adventures...."... "a what?" Welcome to The Evening Hatch. I know you won't have as much fun reading it as we do living it, but we hope you like it.

The Peep Hatch:
Sweets:
I met Sweets in 2006. Our second date found us standing in the Logan River casting to little cutts. Done... I knew I loved her. I have never seen anyone take to the sport of fly fishing more than Sweets. She is the first on the river and last to breakdown her rod. I've seen her catch fish in 20 degree winter weather on the Green River, take off on her birthday to fish by herself in a snow storm, and humble "flyfisherMEN" on tough waters. She thinks about fly fishing all day. She's the real deal.

Ricardo:
At 3 years old he landed his first wild cutt on a fly rod. That was 13 years ago and he has since logged hours fishing in the Yellowstone Volunteer Flyfishing program, landed fish in the Wind Rivers, and shot geese in Canada. I know I’m prejudice, but he has one of the most beautiful casts I’ve seen. I hope his girlfriend likes the outdoors, otherwise, she’ll never see him.

Rooster:
I turned him loose on the Gardner River. He was reading water, changing flies, casting, catching, and releasing fish; he was 7. Rooster now hikes the backcountry of Yellowstone with us and catches picky, midging browns on the Green. He’s a score keeper. Get behind in the fish count and he’ll let you know it.

Me:
I love to fish in the spring and summer, chase waterfowl in the fall and winter, and write goofy hunting stories. I can’t believe how much I’ve been blessed with such an incredible family and the greatest fishing partners on earth.
